Oさんが出勤してこないので冗談で「スリップしてくたばったんだろう」といったら本当に事故ってた。くたばってなくてよかった。

When Mr. O didn’t show up at his part-time job, I jokingly said that he must have died when his car slipped on the snowy road, but he really had an accident. I was glad to hear that he did not die.
